In the build-up to Russia’s leading international oil and gas event, MIOGE 2017, we’ll be taking a tour of the show and the Russian oil and gas industry – starting now.
The Moscow International Oil & Gas Exhibition, or MIOGE, returns this year for its 14th edition. It’s the main meeting place in Russia for local and international players in the market to get together, showcase products, discuss trends, and make the kind of business contacts that will drive Russia’s oil and gas market forwards.
As well as a huge exhibition of 600+ exhibitors and 20,000 visitors, the event also includes a strong business agenda. This starts with the Russian Petroleum & Gas Congress, a two-day conference with hundreds of oil and gas heavyweights from Russia and elsewhere. Russian oil and gas is going to need these new technologies and ideas. Oil production has steadily risen in recent years, culminating with a post-Soviet record level of production at the end of 2016, and even with production cutbacks at the start of 2017, the industry badly needs new technology to keep the oil and gas flowing.
The list of focus areas is endless. New LNG supply routes from Russia’s ports, current and future pipeline construction to Turkey and northern Europe, technology to tap the country’s gigantic unconventional resource base and keep mature fields flowing – there are opportunities for the whole value chain.
